I’m linking a nice article on a common problem seen in the clinic. There’s a few important points beyond trigger point theory from the perspective of Japanese-style acupuncture that are important here.
First, just as the image conveys, this is a problem that is confined to the right side of the body. The right side of the body is governed by the liver.
Second, direct addressing of either points at the scapula or cervicals will not address the underlying cause of right-sided pain, stiffness, and discomfort at this area. Only by treating the liver can this be resolved.
Finally, only proper diagnosis will reveal the degree to which other factors like cervical displacement or nervous system imbalance as a whole are contributing factors.
Anyway, read on. It’s a good article.
